In the hills of Certaldo in a rustic Tuscan setting, contrast and modern furnishings take center stage.
The entire home features light resin flooring that acts as a carpet under the kitchen, whose standout element is the majestic “full black” island with a black Neolith top.
The induction cooktop, sink, and faucet—all rigorously black—blend perfectly with the color scheme, disappearing into the dark monolith.
Special attention went to the column finishes: contrasting materials and textured surfaces, including Fiemme tremila wood weathered by time and “evaporated” to highlight its many tones, plus cement-like resin applied by hand. These surfaces play and contrast with the clean perfection of the flooring and island block, making the project unique through their material interplay.
Hidden in the island is a Fiemme tremila wood surface that transforms into a dining table when opened, thanks to special mechanisms that keep it suspended even at full extension, maximizing space without ground supports or clutter.
Ascending the staircase with its glass balustrade, we reach the sleeping area, where a bathroom features “special effects.”
The Antonio Lupi-signed sink is recessed into the wall as if torn from the masonry, much like the fully concealed “Segreto” mirror with various LED positions—including internal ones activated by a motion sensor—as well as automatic door opening.
The flush-floor shower tray in Akron Beton cement color maintains the distinctive material texture.
Gessi concealed faucetry with LED lighting that colors the water based on temperature completes furnishings designed to surprise in every distinctive element.
A project where materials form a collage of pure perfection and craftsmanship, with natural contrasts allowing surfaces to exalt themselves.
