Casa fonda

Casa Fonda is a renovation project for a musician’s home-studio.

The living area on the ground floor, like a large sound box, diffuses and carries light throughout the space, connecting the various rooms of the house. The bathrooms have been enclosed within masonry partitions that create stereometric volumes and define the design through their “raw” material quality.

The exposed brick becomes a unit of measurement for space and creates a masonry texture that, in its (im)perfection, evokes handmade creations. The fusion of music and architectural reinterpretation evokes the past and conveys the legacy of craftsmanship within a contemporary context.
