The incredible relevance of this project is astonishing, despite the fact that it re-emerged from our archives in 2006, a project by the @lda.imda studio dating back to 1999-2000. We could say that the boldness of the architecture designed for this building, initially just a residential unit with its own courtyard for agricultural tools, was more than forward-thinking, and is still the envy of modern buildings in the most prestigious residential areas of large cities. Yet we are in the province of Pisa, in a small hillside hamlet, a pearl set in the Tuscan hills. The characteristic elements are the roof, which slopes down following the natural slope of the land, and the long corridor connecting the two old buildings, a functional element from which the spaces develop, characterised by a purely minimalist and modern style. The wood used could only be RE BIANCO by @fiemmetremila, clean, beautiful, essential, almost perfect, the natural antagonist of resin. Special opening steps, in which storage spaces have been created, characterise and at the same time enhance the existing difference in height between the various rooms.

The ship’s ladder is a modern reinterpretation of an element that is often underestimated in design, becoming a piece of furniture in its own right.

The corridor has its natural extension outside, transforming into a walkway made with the timeless beauty of teak wood.
