The keys to the house

A stone’s throw from Florence Cathedral, a top-floor flat with breathtaking views has been completely redesigned and radically transformed. From a typically 1970s style, the home has been transformed into a modern and elegant loft. In collaboration with the architect, the client placed their complete trust in our expert hands, literally handing us “the keys to the house”.
The result far exceeded their (and our) expectations.
The dark, biocompatible Fiemme tremila wood flooring in heat-treated Acacia with a saw-cut finish contrasts with the white lacquered furnishings, creating a perfect combination of elegance and harmony.
The kitchen was designed with a pull-out cantilevered table to make the most of the space, while a double-sided TV cabinet with a bioethanol fireplace divides the space, creating a filter with the entrance area.
But the real star of the show is the spiral staircase, which seems to dance on a theatre stage with its play of lights.
The staircase is complemented by the ceiling-high bookcase, moulded onto the entrance wall using the same materials as the floor and furnishings, embellished with backlit compartments of various sizes and thicknesses.
Ceiling-height stone doors characterise the sleeping area, where a skilful mix of materials creates a unique environment.
Wood panelling, sofas, chairs and wardrobes complete the project.
Although we were a little sad to see it go, in the end the keys to the house were returned to their rightful owners.
