Villa Punta Ala

A place to spend carefree hours in the company of friends and family, surrounded by the greenery of the Tuscan Mediterranean scrub, 800 metres from the sea. This was the choice made by a young couple who decided to give a second life to this wonderful villa built in the 2000s. Thanks to architect Filippo Cei, who skilfully respected and enhanced the existing architecture, he succeeded in turning it into a magical place with a careful choice of materials.

The choice for the flooring could only fall on a natural-coloured Fiemme tremila oak, giving the rooms a feeling of spaciousness, light and that sensation of nature that reflects the landscape in which we are immersed. There is a dialogue between the exterior and interior spaces that only a wooden floor can provide.

The permeability between the interior spaces and the surrounding garden is also emphasised by the large glass openings, the use of precious materials and a few particularly refined furnishings. The light, which radiates onto clean interiors and warm materials, was fundamental in warming up the project, which also made use of natural finishes that dialogue with innovative technologies and materials.

In addition to the flooring, attention has been paid to the details of some handcrafted furnishings, simple but at the same time fundamental in conveying the philosophy of the project, such as the TV cabinet, also made of reclaimed Fiemme tremila wood, as if it were an old log brought in by the sea, suddenly stranded in a space-time that is not its own, in stark contrast to the other ultra-clean and ultra-modern furnishings.

When an ancient material such as wood meets modern technology and the skilled hands of a craftsman, wonderful things can be created.
